Obama chooses daughter’s graduation over Ali’s funeral
UNITED States President Barack Obama missed Muhammad Ali’s funeral to attend his eldest daughter’s (Malia) graduation.
President
Obama who attended Malia’s graduation with the rest members of his
family however sent a letter through White House senior adviser, Valerie
Jarrett, who knew Ali personally.
According to the family
spokesman, Bob Gunnell, Ali's widow, Lonnie, had earlier spoken to Mr
Obama over the phone and appreciated his "kind words and condolences."
While
paying his emotional tribute, Obama revealed he keeps a pair of Ali's
gloves in his private study at the White House, stating that we are
fortunate "The Greatest chose to grace our time.
